YEREVAN. – Armenia’s National Assembly (NA) Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov met with representatives from the traditional Armenian political parties, on Sunday in Athens, Greece.
They discussed the preservation of the Armenian identity in the Diaspora-Armenian communities, the NA press service informs.
The discussants reflected on the development of the Homeland-Diaspora unity. They also explored the avenues for addressing the challenges which the Diaspora Armenian schools and learning and cultural institutions face.
The Armenian parliament vice-chair stressed the importance of forming a common agenda and conducting shared activities among the traditional Diaspora-Armenian organizations.
They also underscored the need to carry out more coordinated and effective activities toward the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide.
