YEREVAN. – No country can wage a lone battle against organized crime in the 21st century.
Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan stated the aforesaid during his talk with a delegation comprising prosecutor generals from several European countries and the CIS states.
The delegation members arrived in capital city Yerevan to attend the events that mark the 95th anniversary of the prosecutorial service in Armenia, the President’s Press Office informs.
Sargsyan underscored this visit by the guests in terms of exchanging knowhow, discussing the present-day challenges and threats, and finding ways to address them.
The President thanked all those countries that closely cooperate with, and provide legal support to, Armenia.
Also, he awarded Russian Federation Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika with the Medal of Honor, for his contribution to Armenian-Russian cooperation in the system of justice.
Chaika thanked Sargsyan, and he stated that the prosecutor’s office staffs of Armenia and Russia are proud of the glorious chapters and triumphs in their shared history. He stated that the general prosecutor’s offices of both countries have formed relations that can be called a strategic partnership.
