YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan’s authorities are aware of Azerbaijani contractors’ involvement in military actions in Syria, head of Armenia-based Noravank center Gagik Harutyunyan said.

Azerbaijan has joined Islamist radical groups, Harutyunyan said during the Monday press conference. However, growth of radical trends in Azerbaijan, which is subject to active influence of the external forces, is leading to weakening of the country, he added.

It will not lead to good things as Azerbaijan is not a homogeneous Shiite state, the expert believes.
