YEREVAN. – Russia realizes it has to maintain military balance between Armenia and Azerbaijan, political analyst said.
Sergey Minasyan, deputy director of Caucasus Institute, said Russia is maintaining balance by supplying arms to both states.
“Unless Russia preserves military balance in the region, there will be undesirable developments which will force the country to be involved to certain extent or at least make a political decision,” Minasyan said during the Tuesday press conference.
The expert added that likelihood of military actions in the region has hardly increased.
