YEREVAN. – Mayor Taron Margaryan of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan hosted deputy mayor Colette Babouchian of Marseille, France.

The mayor stressed that the ties between Armenia and France are at the basis of relations between Yerevan and Marseille, the Yerevan Municipality Information and Public Relations Department informs.

“We have carried out several joint projects. I convey my gratitude to the Mayor of Marseille, Jean-Claude Gaudin, for proposing Yerevan’s membership to the European Union-funded CIUDAD/GOSPEL project and for his assistance throughout the implementation of the project,” Margaryan noted.

In her turn, Babouchian assured yet again that the ties between the two cities will transform into much more practical projects.

“As someone of Armenian roots, it is a great pride for me to record that the Marseille mayor’s sole scheduled official visit this year will be to Yerevan. I am confident that this fact is a proof of the friendship that is established between Marseille and Yerevan,” Babouchian noted.

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan conveyed his warmest greetings to the Mayor of Marseille and assured that the Armenian capital city awaits Jean-Claude Gaudin’s visit.
