YEREVAN. – The unemployment rate in Armenia has reduced only according to formal figures, economist Gagik Makaryan said.

The unemployment rate reduced by 30 thousand, but Makaryan is confident that the part of unemployed people simply left the country.

Unfortunately, certain circles are paying attention to formal indicators only, he added.

Makaryan said no crucial economic changes were registered in the first half of 2013. At the same time increase in gas and electricity prices will definitely affect country’s economic development, the expert said, adding that negative consequences will be visible only in several months.
