YEREVAN. – Commerce and industry chambers of Armenia and Lebanon signed a memorandum on cooperation during the Saturday ceremony in Yerevan (photos).
The document signed by heads of chambers Martin Sargsyan and Mohamed Choucair supposes strengthening of bilateral relations, promoting investments and supporting business circles.
“Armenia-Lebanon ties have a history of more than 2,000 years and always were on a high level. We are grateful to Lebanon’s attitude towards the Armenian community which is free to be engaged in creative work there and is making contribution to strengthening of friendship between our two countries,” Sargsyan said.
In his speech, the Minister of Industry of Lebanon Vrezh Sapunjyan added that the two countries have good opportunities for mutual investments.
“Many entrepreneurs from Lebanon have worked and continue working in Armenia, and we intend to strongly promote them,” Minister said. As a further step to strengthen cooperation, he named Beirut-Yerevan-Beirut flight opened on July 5 by Middle East Airlines.
