YEREVAN. – Russia is indispensable for Armenia in terms of security guarantees, Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan stated during a press conference on Monday.

He stressed that Russia is indispensable for Armenia because of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

“There is no other such source of arms and ‘security umbrella,’” the analyst noted.

At the same time, however, Iskandaryan also recalled the interests of both Armenia and Russia.

“If Armenia disappears from the world map, Russia would not dissolve but it would have to abandon the southern wing, where it cannot replace Armenia by either Azerbaijan or Georgia,” Iskandaryan maintained.
