YEREVAN. – The Armenian capital city Yerevan Municipality and the City Promotion Company have launched an initiative to make cycling become a means of transportation in the city.
The initiative also includes the creation of bicycle routes in Yerevan.
Owing to the cooperation and along the lines of the Yerevan Summer program, seventeen bicycle stops will be set up in the city by August 31. The first four of these stops started operations on Friday.
In this connection, an event was held on the same day at Shahumyan Square.
The teams of cyclers rode toward the square, from four different directions, where a cycling show was held informs the Municipality Information and Public Relations Department.
Subsequently, the cyclers rode through Downtown Yerevan. The event got underway from four different points in the city.
