YEREVAN. – Armenian Prosecutor General instructed to send the criminal case in connection with the incident involving “Armenia Today” coordinator Argishti Kiviryan to the Special Investigation Service of Armenia.
Adviser to the Prosecutor General Sona Truzyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the police officer submitted a report on the incident, saying Argishti Kiviryan cursed him, bit and hit him in the car. A criminal case on charges of violence against a representative of authorities has been opened.
Spokesperson for the Investigation Service said they had not received the case so far.
Earlier police accepted Kiviryan’s application on beating in a police car. He is ready to identify those who were in the vehicle at that moment.
The incident occurred near the construction site of a high-rise. As a result protests of local residents, construction was suspended. The works resumed two weeks ago, which persuaded residents to continue picketing.
