YEREVAN. – The Armenian government plans to approve the budget of a project on monitoring of fresh water this week.

The program called “The use of modern technologies in monitoring and maintaining the fresh water” has to be financed by extra-budgetary funds in 2013

The unusual thing is that the project is presented not by the Ministry of Nature Protection, but Foreign Affairs.

The project is being implemented by the Center for Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.

UNESCO has allocated $20,000 for the project which will mainly focus on the organization of workshops in Armenia.
