YEREVAN. – The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) sold $4.05 million at the financial market last week, informs the CBA official website.

In all likelihood, the dollar intervention occurred on September 6.

Prior to that, the US national currency was quickly gaining value in Armenia, as it reached from AMD 406/$1 at the beginning of last week to AMD 412/$1 at the end of the week.

And so as not to allow further sharp rise in the exchange rate of the dollar, a $4-million sale was conducted at an exchange rate of AMD 412.79/$1.

The aforesaid played a role in the stabilization of the exchange rate on the weekend.
