YEREVAN. – Inflation in Armenia has reached double digits, Armenian MP said in parliament.

Prosperous Armenia member Mikael Melkumyan quoted the report by the National Statistical Service of Armenia as of August. In comparison to 2010, inflation rate is 20-30%.

In his opinion, this means that the level of poverty in Armenia is more than the official figure of 35.6%.

In addition, Melkumyan noted that in the second quarter of 2013, GDP grew by only 0.6%, thus there is no growth, and it does not fit the government’s plan.

“We cannot manage to ensure economic growth of 5-7 percent in late December,” he said.
