YEREVAN. – If there is no change in power, Armenia will have serious problems in the sense of nationhood, political scientist Yervand Bozoyan said during a press conference on Wednesday.

He noted that the country’s intellectuals need to be consolidated, and an agenda and a road map should be shaped as to how to go about this change in power.

Bozoyan stressed that the Armenian body politic and the political arena are both “asleep,” whereas the current situation in the country is convenient for the current authorities.

In turn governance analyst Harutyun Mesropyan noted that Armenia does not need a change in power, but rather a change in the system of values and the system of governance.

In his view, a change in power will lead to further deterioration of the situation, and a road map should not be searched for, since the opposition Pre-Parliament initiative’s road map exists for already one year.

“Don’t await results if you change people within the same system!” Mesropyan concluded.
