YEREVAN. – The Head of State and the corresponding majority at the Armenian National Assembly decide on the possibility of putting it to a referendum.

Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan noted the aforesaid during a briefing with news reporters on Thursday.    

He reflected on the proposal to put to a referendum the matter of Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union.

“I myself do not decide; there is Constitution, there is procedure,” Kocharyan added.

To note, following the talks that were held on September 3 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
