YEREVAN. – Deputy Chief of the Armenian police is reluctant to comment on the rumors about his possible appointment to the post of a Prosecutor General.

“I will not answer the questions not referring to the event,” Arthur Osikyan said during the Thursday opening ceremony of a new passport department in Davitashen district, Yerevan.

Osikyan is rumored to be a candidate for the post of Prosecutor General after Aghvan Hovsepyan’s constitutional term in office came to an end.

The media reports suggested Arthur Osikyan, Davit Harutyunyan, Vahram Shahinyan and current military prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan are the candidates for the post.
