STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Bako Sahakyan on Monday received Canadian Member of Parliament Stéphane Dion.

A number of issues related to the Karabakh-Canada relations were discussed during the meeting. Special attention was paid to the development of inter-parliamentarian ties.

President Sahakyan noted that Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) was interested in expanding and deepening of relationships with the leading democratic states, highlighting cooperation with Canada.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Arthur Tovmasyan, Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan, NKR Permanent Representative to the U.S. and Canada Robert Avetisyan, president of the Armenian National Committee of Canada Girair Basmadjian, and other officials participated in the meeting.
