YEREVAN. - Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan on Monday received a delegation from the Legal Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Representatives of the People’s Republic of China.

The delegation was led by Committee Vice-Chairman Sun Baoshu.

Abrahamyan noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the deepening of multilateral cooperation with China, informs the NA press service. In his words, the relations between Armenia and China are dynamically developing, and the two states are enter a new qualitative phase in friendly relations.

The NA speaker noted that the political dialogue of high level is established between the two states, the mutually beneficial cooperation is deepening in the political, economic, scientific-educational, cultural, and in several other domains.

Hovik underscored the big role of interparliamentary cooperation in the development and reinforcement of interstate relations.

In his view, the full cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries also promotes the expansion of a legal basis, which is the foundation for the formation and development of relations in a variety of domains.

Touching upon the regional matters, the Armenian parliament leader thanked the guests for China’s balanced position toward the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Thanking for the warm reception, Sun Baoshu noted that the political and economic relations between the two countries have effectively developed during the 21 years of diplomatic relations and reached a new and a highly qualitative cooperation.

In his words, the existing multilateral relations are expanding and developing under the reliable political cooperation. He also highlighted the further development and strengthening of interparliamentary relations and bilateral contacts.

The Armenian NA speaker reaffirmed the invitation for an official visit to Armenia by Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Permanent Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Representatives of the People’s Republic of China.

Several other matters of bilateral interest likewise were discussed during the talk.
