BEIRUT. – Two churches were attacked in Ar-Raqqah, Syria, and one of them was the Armenian Catholic Church of the Holy Martyrs.  

Editor-in-Chief Shahan Kandaharian of Lebanon’s Aztag Armenian daily told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

According to him, the Armenian Catholic and the Greek Orthodox Churches were desecrated and robbed. 

To note, media reports say that the attack was organized by the jihadists that support the opponents of the Syrian government.  

The Islamists that attacked the Armenian Catholic Church of the Holy Martyrs destroyed the dome with the cross and placed the flag of the faction.
