YEREVAN. – Armenian president’s proposal on declaring amnesty has been included in the agenda of a four-day parliamentary session that started on Monday, parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said.
As reported earlier, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Monday submitted, for National Assembly discussions, the proposal to declare amnesty in Armenia on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of independence.
The previous amnesty was declared in 2011 on the occasion of forthcoming 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. Sasun Mikaelyan and Nikol Pashinyan, who were convicted in connection with the March 1 events, were released under an amnesty.
