YEREVAN. – Amnesty will lead to positive changes in the country’s socioeconomic life, and that is why the President’s proposal to declare it has been taken positively.  

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction leader Galust Sahakyan told the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He added that the NA will discuss the amnesty proposal behind closed doors.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Monday submitted, for National Assembly discussions, the proposal to declare amnesty in Armenia, and on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the declaration of the country’s independence. 

To note, the last decision on declaring amnesty in Armenia was made on May 25, 2011, and in connection with the forthcoming 20th anniversary of independence.
