YEREVAN. – Zaruhi Postanjyan—who is Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party National Assembly (NA) Faction Secretary and member of Armenia’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)—is a strange woman, and we have been witnessing to her corresponding actions on many occasions.
Opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party NA Faction member Aghvan Vardanyan stated the aforesaid during Friday’s briefings at the parliament.
“It is her right to decide what question to pose, but the ARF members have never permitted themselves to ask such questions. You cannot discredit your own country with such statements,” Vardanyan noted.
In his words, there are so many problems in Armenia that, with its importance, the question raised by Postanjyan is in tenth place.
The ARF MP added that although he is not against raising the country’s problems beyond its boundaries, the “dirty laundry” should not be taken out of the house.
“The president could have been given more complex questions concerning the country’s problems,” Aghvan Vardanyan maintained.
To note, during the question and answer session at Wednesday’s PACE plenary session in Strasbourg, France, Zaruhi Postanjyan had asked Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan the following question:
“You have appeared here [in the PACE session] not by the will of the people, but [rather] as a consequence of organized crime, the theft of the Armenian people’s vote. Therefore you cannot de jure represent the will and right of the Armenian people. [So,] I’ll give you another question. Have you been to a casino in Europe and lost 70 million euros there? And who paid that amount in your stead?”
