YEREVAN. – A two-day conference, entitled “Assessing Performance of Electoral Stakeholders,” will kick off on October 7 in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.
The event is co-organized by the OSCE Office in Yerevan, within the framework of the EU-funded OSCE project on “Support to Two Cycles of National Elections in Armenia,” and in close collaboration with USAID/Counterpart International-Armenia.
It aims at bringing together all main players of the electoral cycle—both from public institutions and from the civil society, for a discussion about the lessons learnt through the two major national elections of 2012 and 2013 on implementation of the amended Electoral Code.
The conference will provide a forum for post-election analysis and self-evaluation of the performances of various stakeholders, including civil society, Central Election Commission, territorial and precinct election commissions, National Assembly factions, police, judiciary, and others.
Chief of the President’s Administration Vigen Sargsyan, Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan Ambassador Andrey Sorokin, and Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Ambassador Traian Hristea will make opening remarks at the event.
