YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia will allocate $2 million to assist those companies, whose at least 50 percent of the shares are owned by women.  

According to the bill, which is put on the agenda of Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, this amount will be allocated to the Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center (SMEDNC) of Armenia.   

Pursuant to the agreement signed with the Asian Development Bank, SMEDNC is obligated to provide financial support to Armenia’s 300 small and medium-sized companies that are managed by women entrepreneurs. 

The respective financial support is given by way of providing loan guarantees.
