Hayk Kosakyan, 30, Armenia’s Navur village resident who was wounded on Saturday in Tavush Region by a bullet shot by the adversary, is a police officer, Navur prefect Aram Nigoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Nigoyan added that Kosakyan had gone to the fields, which are located nearby Nerkin Karmiraghbyur village, to collect and purchase grapes.

But the young policeman did not get the chance to collect grapes, as he was wounded—while sitting in the car—by a bullet fired by the adversary.

There were two others with him at the time, but the bullet did not hit them.

“The bullet passed by the car seat, and subsequently hit him. They transferred him to [Berd city] hospital,” Nigoyan noted.

The village head further informed that Kosakyan is married with children and lives with his parents.

He underwent a surgery, the bullet was removed from his body, and he is doing fine.

Hayk Kosakyan is expected to be discharged from hospital within the next two days.
