YEREVAN. – Armenia will launch production of anti-hail nets starting from 2014, director of Armenia-based company said.

Hasmik Stamboltsyan, financial director of Technofit group, said the company is already importing anti-hail nets and drip irrigation system. However, starting from next year the nets will be produced in Armenia, she told the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

The launch of local production will result in considerable reduction of prices: from AMD 8-10 million per hectare for imported production to AMD 4-5 million for the local ones.

The nets are designed for repeated use, and with careful handling can be used for 15-20 years. The nets, having height of 5-7 meters, are protecting from hail, ultraviolet, insects, and birds.
