YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) members are very much troubled by their yet another failure, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“The RPA members note that the Armenia-European Union [EU] interparliamentary cooperation session, which was slated [to be] held on October 28 and 29 in [Armenia’s capital city] Yerevan, will not be convened.

“According to the same circles, as a sign of boycotting Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union, the EU MPs have refused to come to Yerevan.

“Solely Milan Cabrnoch, European Chairman of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, will come to Armenia. According to still officially unconfirmed information, [but] instead of the regular session of the committee, Cabrnoch will simply meet with the political forces that are represented in our NA [i.e., National Assembly].

“If this information is officially confirmed, the incident can be considered a foreign policy scandal,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
