YEREVAN. – The education expenditures will make up 122 billion drams (approx. $300 million) in Armenia’s 2014 State Budget. 

Deputy Minister of Finance Pavel Safaryan stated the abovementioned during Wednesday’s National Assembly discussions devoted to the 2014 State Budget.

The respective increase is 13 percent, as compared to the 2013 State Budget, and 60 percent of this funding will be directed to public education.

A total of 4.2 billion drams (approx. $10,323,776) will be spent on increasing the teachers’ salaries. 

As per Safaryan, next year the teachers’ average monthly salary will be 152,000 drams (approx. $374), as compared to the 140,000 drams (approx. $344) in 2012.
