YEREVAN. – Armenian president’s participation in the Vilnius summit is not a goal in itself, as the talks with EU are underway, Armenian MP said.

Manvel Badeyan, member of the Republican Party of Armenia, said it is difficult to forecast what document will be signed between Yerevan and Brussels. He noted that EU and Customs Union are structures that are viewed by Armenia in terms of economic interests.

“The business circles will be represented during the Vilnius summit, and this will open up opportunities for establishment of new ties. Participation in the summit is not about image, it is a negotiation process,” the MP added.

He noted that if a document proposed by EU is not meeting Armenia’s interests, it will not be signed.
