YEREVAN. – The New Political Culture of Armenia Party has entered the Armenian scene to unite the country’s opposition, Party Chairwoman Ani Zakharyan stated at a press conference on Wednesday.

In Zakharyan’s words, Armenia’s accumulated problems are not solved because the country’s different political poles are not together.   

“First and foremost, the cornerstone for my entering politics has been to unite today’s major political forces around one common political platform.

“And [President] Serzh Sargsyan is to blame for the current situation because he has not chosen the right staff,” Zakharyan added. 

She also presented their party program.

“We will attempt to secure a central position for Armenia in the global political platform, and to connect Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia and make it a region of Armenia. 

“We consider European integration to be an indispensable and a correct process.  

“We will cut down the state apparatus; specifically, the number of embassies, replacing some of them with consulates,” Ani Zakharyan said, in particular.
