Three people were killed in a torched Athens bank. Twenty-nine policemen were injured in the riot in Greek capital, whereas 12 people were arrested.

Clashes followed a many thousand peaceful demonstration against harsh cutbacks.

Four buildings were set on fire. Strangers tossed firebomb into the bank building in the center of Athens. Firemen managed to save 5 people, however after the fire was extinguished, bodies of two young women and a man were found.
