YEREVAN. – Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern on Monday discussed tense situation at the line of contact and on Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

Minister Ohanyan and Ambassador Heffern expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of situation and considered the options of reducing tension, first of all the process within the format of the OSCE Minsk Group, says the joint statement by Defense Ministry and U.S. Embassy.

Ambassador Heffern expressed condolences to the families of those killed as a result of the incidents and called on the parties to contribute to reducing tension.
