YEREVAN. – The Armenian authorities do not expect a rise in the price of electricity this year.
The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Yervand Zakharyan, stated the above-said at a press conference on Wednesday.
As per Zakharyan, the country’s president and government have adopted such a stance.
In parallel to this, however, the—10 to 15 percent—hike in electricity prices as of August 2014 did not solve all the problems of Armenia’s energy companies, the minister noted.
He added that the situation became even worse with the recent devaluation of the Armenian national currency, the dram.
Nonetheless, the electricity prices in the country are not expected to go up in 2015, Yervand Zakharyan stressed.
