YEREVAN. – The Armenian soldier is the 2014 Man of the Year, and the Ministry of Defense (MOD), the Armenian army, is the 2014 Organization of the Year. 

The Minister of Education and Science, Armen Ashotyan, stated the aforesaid at Saturday’s consultation at the MOD.

“I congratulate the Armenian army on the year that passed, and seizing the opportunity, I would like to inform that this year, for the first time ahead of January 28, a uniform event devoted to the Armenian army will be organized in all schools in Armenia on the same day, at the same time,” the minister said.

In his words, the military patriotic education is a main component of the policy of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia.

“This is a part of the concept for the preservation of the [Armenian] national identity,” Ashotyan added.

The ministers of defense, culture, diaspora, sport and youth affairs, territorial administration and emergency situations, and the chief of police of Armenia are attending the abovementioned consultation, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from the event.
