Even though there are still six months before the next parliamentary elections in Turkey, the pro-Kurdish “Peoples’ Democratic Party” (HDP) has begun to seek its 550 MP candidates in the 81 provinces of the country.

The HDP Election Coordinating Council has started filtering the respective party nominees, reported Taraf daily of Turkey.

It is noted that the party decided to nominate as MP candidate either Rakel Dink or Arat Dink, the widow and son, respectively, of Hrant Dink, the founder and chief editor of Agos Armenian weekly of Istanbul, who was shot dead on January 19, 2007 outside the office of his weekly.

But given the fact that Rakel Dink had not wished to become a candidate for deputy in 2011, nominating Arat Dink is considered to be more likely.
