YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia has issued a statement.

“The military leadership of Azerbaijan has set a new, a higher benchmark for curtailing of information and distortion of facts.

“Moreover, the ministry of defense of this state has completely stopped the dissemination of any negative information on its armed forces.

“This practice fully fits within the framework of the [Azerbaijani] information policy which is conducted at national level.

“The Ministry of Defense of the RA [i.e., the Republic of Armenia] [, on the other hand,] will continue, from now on as well, the open, transparent and objective information policy, being accountable to the society for all the accomplishments, moreover the shortfalls, of our [Armenian] armed forces.

“This difference in the approach adopted in the information field best demonstrates the ethical and value difference which exists and deepens on a daily basis with the opposing [Azerbaijani] side,” the Armenian MOD statement specifically reads.
