Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated yet again that if the Armenians are sincere in connection with 1915, they should leave this matter to the historians.
Speaking to the state-run TRT television, Erdogan also reflected on the Armenian issue arguing that the Armenian diaspora is not at ease, reported Haber7 website of Turkey.
Accusing the Armenian diaspora, Erdogan recalled that Turkey has always said it is ready to discuss the matter with historians.
“We’re saying that if you are sincere, let’s open our archives, let the historians study, [and] submit us the reports. And we, as politicians, [should] sit down, talk. If there is a need to pay for something, we’ll pay for it; but no one is coming.
“Countries that have nothing to do with the problem are making decisions at their own discretion. If you ask [one such country], it can’t [even] show Armenia’s location on the map, yet they are adopting Armenia-related decisions at parliament.
“We’re not obligated to recognize the Armenian Genocide at someone’s order,” the Turkish president stated.
