Anna Grodzka, the first transgender Member of Parliament in Poland, plans to run for the president.

In her words, The Greens party, which she is a member of, will support her candidacy.

The future presidential candidate told reporters that she is not afraid of the criticisms by the politicians, since they do not make these decisions, Lenta.ru reported citing Newsweek Polska.

Grodzka was elected to the Sejm, the lower house of the Polish parliament, in 2011, a year after her sex reassignment surgery. She is also a member of the Trans-Fuzja Foundation, which is engaged in the protection of the rights of transsexuals.
