YEREVAN. – Whether or not the other National Assembly (NA) factions will join, the non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia [Party] (PAP) NA Faction will choose the option of boycotting the next four-day session of the parliament, PAP NA Faction Secretary Naira Zohrabyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

She noted that the next NA regular session will get underway on February 22, and until then, they have time to consult with their colleagues.

“The PAP Political Board has petitioned to the faction to boycott the NA activities until the real architects and real perpetrators of the villainous, shameful, [and] shameless incident that occurred with [PAP activist] Artak Khachatryan are brought to account,” Zohrabyan specifically said.

The PAP parliamentary faction head added that she cannot say what developments await a country which is gradually transforming from a “secure Armenia”—which President Serzh Sargsyan had promised—into a “gangster Armenia.”

To note, PAP activist Artak Khachatryan was taken to hospital by an ambulance on February 7 at around 7pm. According to his brother, about forty minutes earlier, Khachatryan was left outside his apartment in a “battered and broken, semi-conscious condition.” Earlier in the morning of the same day, news was disseminated that Artak Khachatryan had been abducted.
