YEREVAN. – The opposition Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP) of Armenia will soon discuss the matter of whether to boycott the next National Assembly (NA) four-day session, RLP NA Faction Head Heghine Bisharyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

She noted that what occurred with non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) activist Artak Khachatryan is in the wrong.

“The rebellion by each and every person should be a value, and we shall not intimidate, beat [him].

“We condemn the murder at the threshold of the centenary of the [Armenian] Genocide, yet, unfortunately, we had numerous occurrences, in these days, which are reprehensible. (…) The [Armenian] law enforcement agencies need to deservedly condemn that man [who is responsible],” Bisharyan stated, in particular

She added that the political forces will give their assessments on what had occurred with Khachatryan, and the future courses of action will show what will happen in the future.

As reported earlier, PAP activist Artak Khachatryan was taken to hospital by an ambulance on February 7 at around 7pm. According to his brother, about forty minutes earlier, Khachatryan was left outside his apartment in a “battered and broken, semi-conscious condition.” Earlier in the morning of the same day, news was disseminated that Artak Khachatryan had been abducted. Subsequently, the Prosperous Armenia Party Political Board had issued a statement proposing its parliamentary faction to boycott the next National Assembly regular four-day session.
