US President Barack Obama realizes that the Armenian Genocide had occurred.

Historian and Oriental Studies specialist Anahit Khosroeva, who is a professor at the University of Chicago (USA), stated the aforementioned at Tuesday’s discussion on the genocide issue.

In her words, however, the US President will not recognize the Armenian Genocide because grand politics will not permit this to happen.

“Along with the Armenians, the Assyrians and Pontic Greeks also were subjected to genocide in the years of the First World War.

“[But] today, the Turkish officials present in a distorted manner what happened at that time with the Christian peoples,” Khosroeva added.
