YEREVAN. – Anna Badalyan, 47, who had set herself and nine-year-old son on fire at their home by pouring gasoline on herself and the little boy at dawn on Monday, has lost her life on Wednesday at around 3am.

The director of the Research Center of Radiation Medicine and Burns, Norayr Davidyan, told about the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am

He noted that the patient had not come out of shock, 70 percent of her body had burned, they were 4th-degree burns, her kidneys were not working, and she died at night as her cardiovascular system had stopped functioning. 

As reported earlier, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia received a report, on Monday at 5am, according to which a fire had broken out in an apartment in capital city Yerevan. The fire was put out at 5:27am, but the apartment, together with the furniture (28 square meters), was completely destroyed by the fire. The firefighters evacuated 47-year-old A. B. and 9-year-old F. N. from the apartment, but they were suffering from smoke inhalation, burns, and different-degree physical injuries. The injured were hospitalized, and criminal proceedings were launched into the incident.
