A passenger aircraft, which was en route from Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan to Russian capital city Moscow, made an emergency landing in Volgograd, Russia, and due to the inappropriate conduct of a passenger.
This passenger was the citizen of a European country; possibly the Netherlands.
A source from the emergency services in Volgograd informed Interfax news agency that the airplane, with 130 people on board, had landed in this Russian city on Tuesday at 11:30pm Armenia time.
The said passenger’s conduct had created a risk toward the people around him on board the aircraft. According to the source, this passenger was running inside the aircraft cabin and beating on the door of the pilots.
According to preliminary data, he was having an episode of persecution mania.
The man was removed from the aircraft in Volgograd, and the plane resumed its flight to Moscow.
