Ronny Petrus Josephina, a 36-year-old Dutch citizen, was heading from Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan to the Netherlands via the Russian Federation (RF) capital city, Moscow.

Josephina has said that he is a former employee of the Dutch special services.

LifeNews informed, citing its sources in the Russian law enforcement agencies, that Josephina had arrived in Armenia from Amsterdam with his car, and driving through Bulgaria and Turkey. Subsequently, he had traveled to Georgia and returned to Yerevan. After spending some more time in the Armenian capital city, this time he had gone to Syria and again returned to Yerevan.

Leaving his car in Armenia, he had bought a plane ticket back to Holland. But since the flight was a transit one, he had to travel via Moscow. And the incident took place during this flight, whereupon the Dutchman was detained.

Josephina said it had seemed to him that he was in danger on board the plane, and therefore he had asked for assistance. And when the man had begun to beat on the door of the pilot’s cockpit, the aircraft crew had decided to make an emergency landing in Volgograd, Russia.

“The foreign citizen was sober; alcohol or [narcotic] drugs were not found in his blood. He did not have any banned object.

“Ronny Petrus Josephina has no right to be in the RF territory, and he is currently in the transit zone of the Volgograd airport,” the latter’s sources told LifeNews.
