YEREVAN. – Henceforth Armenia will mark, on December 9, the Remembrance Day of Genocides.
The government on Thursday approved the respective package of amendments to the Law on Holidays and Remembrance Days, and which a group of MPs had submitted.
The relevant amendment proposes to adopt December 9 as the remembrance day because it was on this day in 1948 that the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide was adopted.
