YEREVAN. – No state agency is explaining how to submit a petition requesting a review of the entry ban to Russia.

The Armenian migrant workers, who on Thursday are staging a demonstration outside the Government Building, have stated the aforementioned.

The head of the Government Department of Petitions and Complaints, Aleksandr Ghazaryan, approached the protestors.

“They should tell us how long [we need] to wait,” a demonstrator said. And according to another protestor, because of the administrative offenses they have committed in Russia, they are unable to work in Belarus and Kazakhstan either.

Ghazaryan, in response, announced that the complaints of these migrant workers will be examined, and the relevant state agencies are already looking for solutions to this matter.

Ever since 2014, Russia has toughened its control on the foreign citizens’ abiding by the country’s immigration laws. As a result, and depending on the types of violations of these laws, a ban—for up to ten years—on entry to Russia is specified for foreign nationals. According to Russian sources, this ban is applicable for about three million people, whose 50 to 60 thousand may be Armenian citizens.
