YEREVAN. – U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills refused to comment on the recent statement by Armenian leader Serzh Sargsyan in which the latter slammed opposition politician and businessman Gagik Tsarukyan (photo).

Mills said he came from Louisiana where name calling is a part of politics. However, he added that all U.S. Embassies in the world are working with all political leaders, and the embassy in Armenia will continue working with the ruling party, the opposition and NGOs.

One of the strongest points of democracy in Armenia is that Armenia has opposition that is free to contact the embassies.

If a president has an intention to hold an investigation, everything must be transparent and under the Armenian laws.

“I think President Sargsyan knows about it, and he also knows that if there are concerns, we will voice them,” he resumed.

During the council of RPA party, President Serzh Sargsyan slammed Gagik Tsarukyan, calling him “an evil for the country”.
