YEREVAN. – The upcoming meeting of the three non-government forces is a common democratic process, speaker of the Armenian parliament Galust Sahakyan said.

Asked whether he expects that the rally will be a start to a change of regime, Sahakyan said: “I am not supportive of turbulent sentiments. This is a common democratic process. Political persecution is out of question.”

President Sargsyan slammed Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan during the meeting of ruling party's council on February 12. He called Tsarukyan “an evil for the country” and relieved him of his seat in the Security Council. On Sunday leaders of non-government political forces – Prosperous Armenia, ANC and Heritage – set February 20 as a day for a rally in Liberty Square.
