YEREVAN. – Sweden’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Martina Quick—whose diplomatic residence is in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi—, on Monday presented a copy of her credentials to Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Congratulating the ambassador on her appointment, Nalbandian noted that Armenian-Swedish relations have significantly intensified in recent years. The FM also expressed the hope that the diplomat will greatly contribute to the extension of bilateral collaboration between the two countries.

Ambassador Quick, for her part, stressed that Sweden underscores the expansion of cooperation with Armenia, as evidenced by the founding of the Embassy of Sweden in Yerevan. The diplomat also assured that she will do her utmost, during her tenure, to strengthen and extend cooperation between Armenia and Sweden.

Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed the measures to be taken to further develop bilateral relations. They also reflected on Armenia-European Union cooperation, and several urgent international matters.

In addition, Edward Nalbandian briefed Martina Quick on the ongoing efforts, by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, to achieve a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
