YEREVAN. – The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) new Ambassador to Armenia, Jassim Mohammed Mubarak Al Qasimi, on Wednesday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the ambassador for commencing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, wished him success, and expressed the hope that the ambassador will make the utmost use of his personal experience and professional skills to further strengthen the Armenia-UAE ties. Sargsyan also noted that the interstate relations between Armenia and the Arab countries are developing, and the Armenia-UAE relations are one of the best examples of this collaboration.

Ambassador Al Qasimi, for his part, assured that his country likewise possesses a warm and respectful attitude toward Armenia and the Armenian people. He is considered a great honor for him to be the first UAE resident ambassador to Armenia, and stressed that he is commencing his diplomatic mission with the confidence of recording a clear success for the two countries.

At the ensuing talk, the Armenian president and the UAE ambassador discussed the avenues for enhancing economic collaboration and attracting investments. In addition, they reflected on Armenia-UAE collaboration within international organizations, the current regional situation and existing challenges, the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, and the events scheduled for this year and within the framework of the centenary of the Armenian Genocide.
